i would use lincoln 71m or 7018.good for just about every thing
i find 71m runs better with CO2, had a problem with 75/25 leaving worm tracks.flux core might be easier sence you won't need the gas.

big money for a benderand it would be hard to make. you can fill pipe with sand and heat and bend them, don't think i would try exhaust pipe that way though. maybe in a emergence or one time thing, but that would be all.

i have had a couple 7.3 powerstrokes and like them a lot. my last one had alot of performance upgrades and ran great. but i would not buy a 6.0, to many problems, i would get a duramax, the cummins is a great motor, but i would never drive a dodge.

why don't you save the money, and build a cart or a stand to keep it off the floor. you are going to want to try out the new welder any way.

try to mount a large battery in a plastic battery box, that way it is easy to get to if it needs to be jumped and will power your equipment better.
