Blade BREAK IN is important. Something not right if you are going through blades....

I would scrap it and replace. If there is a bad spot there will be more no doubt. This is brought up in many welding forums and end result is to junk it or make something out of it. Do you feel lucky ?
It maybe unlikely but sad IF a family member was nearby when it blew. Not worth it to me....

Just cut standard 2 1/2'' schedule 40 or 80. That will fit perfect . Run a angle grinder in the split first, run a bead , and place 2 1/2'' pipe patch on. Use a cutoff wheel to split the 2 1/2'' and weld up.

If it's 2 '' schedule 40 , I would use 2 1/2'' pipe for the repair. Schedule 40 will work but 80 might be a tighter fit . Two inch slides inside 2 1/2'' nicely.

I agree on finding one used. Check craigslist too. Sometimes you can find a double axle boat trailer for less money than what you pay for the axles. I modified a $150.00 boat trailer for a movable chicken coop . The axle and wheels would have cost more....

bowfinger , placement of machine could create issues. Try to avoid any tight bends at the machine or in cable. I know it doesn't seem like much but maybe a concern. Buddy had his machine on floor at welding table and cable stretch straight up with a tight a$$ bend at machine and wonder why the wire...

For farm repair on dirty or rusted metal , I use 6010 DC or if you have AC, 6011.
This will burn through almost anything.
