why do you say POS? Are the tools they carry that poor? The tools seem decent enough. I would classify Princess Auto as POS suppliers.

Drill press purchase.
Going to make a purchase of a drill press for the shop.
What features would you recommend looking for?
What size?
Would you stay away from 1/2hp models?
here are two that have caught my eye so far.

I have had to deal with ALLOT of seized bolts. A few things to try. No hard fast rule or silver bullet but here goes.
Penetrating lube is worth its weight in gold, you will be surprised how much it wicks UP. use lots and give it some time
as it was mentioned, heat the bolt....

I don't know of a Million $ dyno, but what i do know is that Dyno's that can handle >1000hp are VERY expensive. Not a Million expensive but allot more than 34k. I would venture a guess of 200k for a large HP "rolling road"
I think your "plan" is sketchy to say...

I do have an air compressor. its located to the right of the sink at the back of the garage 1/2 under the landing. I also have an air drier on the wall near the ceiling (red box) and a large air tank under the landing bolted to the floor.

good tips... I just don't know how you get long steel above the door. With the door opener arm right in the center and all.
All of my "small" stuff is in the filing cabinets actually. I think the next step for sure is what KBAR mentioned, building proper shelves to allow more...

Could you not find any more steel to build the mount? WOW what are you planning to move? From the looks I would guess that setup could be rated for at least 10k lb.

its an air cleaner. 3micron filter inside. It has two speeds, loud and quiteI put a carbon filter on the outlet. It works really well as a smog eater but I wanted some type of filter to cut the smell. As its an attached garage the wife complains that it smells when I get working. She wishes my hobby...

We have a landing that was taking up allot of space. I got my hands on some used file cabinets and put it on wheels and bolted some hinges to the landing. Gives me room to stuff the bikes and kids toys under the landing.

small workspace. What do you do to make extra space?
I have a small shop (19'x20'). I have had to work hard to make the small amount of room work. I am interested in what space saving ideas some of you have come up with over the years. here is what I have right now.

well you could just drill a hole and put in a pin at the working height. Hang the pin on a chain so you don't loose it.
