It was a while ago but I am pretty sure I changed the ocv from very low to very high via some hidden menus. The machine runs 6010 very well..

Years ago in a welding shop we would get worm tracks if the stickout wasn't long enough. The explanation was something about moisture in the flux and the longer stickout gave more time to preheat it. I am not so sure of the credibility of that explanation but it did work to go longer. You can easily...

My Dynasty200 came with the ocv set very low for stick welding. If you carefully read your manual it will explain how to raise it much higher which allows for great starting. It is so great it literally starts the arc up with a bang....

Ok here come what some of you might think as bad 7018 welding practices, but...
In the really cold of winter like -20C and below some Rig Weldors didn't used to use a rod oven if the job didn't require it. New boxes were opened, used and immediately put into sealed rod containers. Very...

More hearsay: This winter I ran across a fellow working in Ft St John who had got ahold of one when his pro300 was in for repairs. He was very happy with it, bought it and kept the pro300 as a backup. Mentioned that it seemed to have way more arc force when fabbing and could run a 1/4 7018 way down...

Haha well you got me there. I don't know which hoops you will have to jump through to land working here but I do know there are a few guys who have done it. I think it may have been brought up here before as well as on the AWS site. I believe a good start would be the Union halls. Short of working...
