Sorry for the late update. We left for a long vacation the day of my last post and did not have time to take the welder in for repair. So the machine went in on Monday - 8/30/21. Just got this text from RJ Kates:

I did it to gain the benefit of having the latest software on the machine. I did check what version was there via the hidden menu. I used a full size 16 gb card & formatted it before downloading & unzipping. I looked at the files on the card, iirc they took up about 2/3 of it.

Killed my Dynasty 280 DX?
I just purchased a Dynasty 280 DX from CraigsList. Have been using it for the last 2 days with no problems. I like it a lot. Or did.
Anyway... I downloaded the latest software update from Miller, inserted the SD card per directions, the light under the card reader turned green, the display... -
Thanks for the comments and suggestions, everyone. Because of the holidays and house guests, I haven't been able to spend any time with the 255.
Hopefully, after the holidays I can try different settings and see what they do.
