You are probably better starting a new thread since this is 12 years old, and about a different machine. If you do, you'll want to provide the serial number so folks will know which manual and diagrams to reference.
I had this happen with a Syncrowave 250 a while ago after cleaning the...

Lots of options, but a lot will depend upon location and how the house is set up for heat and power right now. If you've got natural gas or propane and the current meter can support the additional draw, a wall unit will be pretty easy and inexpensive to add.
If you live someplace that...

I haven't welded with anything as nice as a new Dynasty, but I've welded with a number of inverter TIG machines and see zero difference in arc quality compared with my Syncrowave 250DX. I actually get better results on aluminum with the Sync than anything else I've tried...it just seems to work for...

A ballpark budget would help a lot since the range is so great. Are you only looking at new machines?...

Sorry to hear about your machine...that's never fun. The $1,200 quote was from 5 years ago, so that's one difference. Also, welding repair shop prices for boards are elevated. The current price for the board going through sources like Millerserviceparts.com or Miller4less.com looks to be about $1,300....

I'm not an expert, but when I was reading up on the older 35S, 35 and 200 models I found threads where people talked about reviving welders that had sat for years. In more than one instance the drive motors weren't turning, or would just barely moving. I recall most, if not all, were fixed by disassembling...

Right now Facebook Marketplace seems to have overtaken Craigslist for local sales. Other than the downside of dealing with Facebook it's safer and gets more visibility. I've sold a bunch of stuff there that used to all be Craigslist stuff...welders, lathes, compressors, bench vises, anvils, etc....

In theory you can weld aluminum using DC TIG, but from a practical perspective it isn't realistic for most of us.
I only mention this because seemingly any time someone says it's not possible to weld aluminum with AC TIG someone brings up the fact that is technically possible, just not...Last edited by G-ManBart; 10-29-2021, 06:20 PM.

There's really nothing you should have to replace to get started. I don't like the work clamp they tend to put on factory machines, so I tend to just replace that from the start with the heavy all-brass one they sell at Harbor Freight for around $15...identical to the name brands now and a fraction...

I've had three bottles that were contaminated so far. All three had just come back from hydro with a new valve, new paint, and new stickers. They came from two different suppliers but I believe they were all tested at the same hydro shop. I suspect they had something other than argon in them previously...

I haven't seen SOOX before, but I'm sure it's fine. S stands for "Service" which is the general kind of wire. OO stands for Oil resistant insulation and oil resistant jacket. Often the last letter will be a W for "weather and water resistance" so X has to be something along those...
