Try to avoid joining a Union that doesn't pay enough, often large places will be Unionized; they aren't Union because the Owners are everyone's pal and if they don't pay a lot there's something going on.
I looked up how much the Rates at the UA (a Union, with Pipefitters and Welders)...

You read the part about doing it by feel with no Helmet and it was absolutely perfect. Or did the others just chime in......

Lucky, if an extremely low priced item will fix everything.
Everything is cold to me but you don't have to use Spray Transfer.
If it's supposed to hold a lot of weight then GMAW would be my last choice; FCAW (assuming it's correct) isn't going to fail and SMAW (if it's...

If a Business has the work and charges enough an expensive Welding Machine and complete set of Accessories can be paid for in a week.
If things were super slow or you don't charge nearly enough you'll get all your money back in a couple of months.
If you can weld, it can be...

The problem (which I can not see in those Photos) is the solution.
The two pieces of metal are easy enough to duplicate from some scrap metal you have on hand - make a Test piece to practice on.
Weld underneath a bit and rotate it so you must weld underneath again, keep welding...

I guess you'll see when you look at it ...
The "Y" will take Shielding Gas from your Torch unless you set it up:
Tank ➡ "Y" ↗ Reg1 ↘ Reg2
Reg1 ➡ Torch
Reg2 ➡ Purge Hose

6", 4 tacks, 3/32 land, 1/8 gap. Just shove it in and drag.
Try 200 first, forget 5. It would be one Stick down each side and so thin you'd be scared to attempt the Fill. Needless to say we're talking about absolutely perfect results.

Congrats.
Tons of people (most not any good) do 'Mobile', and you must know someone to be considered for Pipeline.
Can you run 1/8" 6010 down @ 500 amps without looking (no Helmet); no Pipe for you....

No, everything except the Cylinder is $5,745.50 and it includes a Wireless Footpedal (Cyberweld).
The purpose of those Barebones Examples is because you mentioned the "210" and I was saying that it is worth the Upgrade to the "DX" if you're going to outlay that much...

The 210 it is ... (waiting and saving increases your options); you can change your mind, we've not run out of questions or advice until we've helped you.
Remember: Don't let us talk you into something you don't need or can't afford - Accessories are a must, and add a lot to the cost....

Tell us about your needs for portability (weight) and if you plan on TIG welding Aluminum (someday) - also resale value might be a consideration.
"What do you guys think about the 215?" - It's OK.
What do you think of the Syncrowave 210 - "Too $!"? (I hate...

Reading your Posts and looking at your Photos I see a good but dirty sink, a good but dirty dog, and an unhappy dog in that sink (expecting a bath).
If your dog advised you to buy a TIG Welder to modify the Sink then that's one smart dog - he expects a new toy for you to be a distraction...

Try some more practice before the Test, including bending it yourself. Make certain you can test yourself prior to paying for someone else to do it.
The Test Location might have Booth rental and you might be able to use the same Machine as you will be tested on.
Good luck....Last edited by RobC; 11-08-2016, 10:45 AM.
