This may sound like a dumb question but who requires welders to have certifications? Let's say like in a shop setting doing production work. Is it the engineers that design the end product being welded? Is it the welding shop that requires it? And where to WPS's and PQR's come into play? And who writes...

Aluminum tig weld appearance

Yeah, it'll run a 6011 but the rod snuffs out a lot and it looks terrible. I've seen Jody run it with that machine on weldingtipsandtricks but he also said it snuffs out a lot

Any experienced pipe fence guys?
Hey guys, I'm looking at getting into building some pipe fence with a fence builder. I would just be notching the pipe with my plasma cutter and welding. He has talked about using oil field pipe but I need to ask him about using regular pipe since I know it's a little cleaner and not magnetized ECT....

Welding on an aluminum ladder
Would it be safe to weld aluminum trailers while standing on an aluminum ladder, as far as not getting shocked? Couldn't the ladder be a ground? Thanks
