Sync 350 problem?

You are right, there is no possible way a little 175 amp MIG could weld 1/2" steel plate, Flux core or solid. The MM175 is looking be my welder of choise! Unless something strange happens and I change my mind or somebody convinces me that the lincoln is better ...

It probably is easier to dial in after all the complants I have read about the infinite voltage control and wire speed tracking on the MM 175. It's also a tad bit cheaper too.

Thanks for your offer, but my uncle has that same unit, I will have to see if he will let me run a couple beads on some scrap so I can see how well it welds.

How good is the MM175 as far as arc quality and weldable thickness go's? I know it's rated up to 1/4" but what is it's true limit? How much better is it compared to it's Lincoln counterpart? (link below) I am weighing my options because my parents are thinking of buying me one for my birthday and...

Um, how do you tack weld an aluminium T-weld? I always used those arrow magnet thingys for steel corner and T-welds but since aluminium is non-ferrious they can't be used. So how do you do it? My last joint in aluminium Tig welding is a T joint and I need to know how to pull it off so I don't ruin...

Knowing how to weld is very rewarding. I am 16, going to turn 17 in little over a month, I love to weld stuff and I plan to make a few things in the school shop. I guess I will stay with the Dynasty. Those added controls could be a great help in the future once I can get taught or learn on my own how to use them. Thanks everyone for the advise.

Anyone use the New Sync 200? Just want to know if it's anygood and would it be better in the long run to have than the Dynasty 200 DX. I would basically use it for hobby stuff and I see no need to spend $3000+ for something that is probably too much for me to handle at the moment.
