I've always used a circular saw with a carbide blade for the last 30 years. A small tube of bee's wax is rubbed on the blade before plugging in the saw and makes for a quick, clean, and true cut. Plus it only takes a little clean up before welding. Back in the early '80's I did some work for an ambulance...

After looking at the pictures of this welder I realized that I bought an Airco about 5 years ago from a thrift shop for $50 that is a dead ringer except that it was yellow. Don't know if it was built by Miller for Airco or by Airco for Miller.
I gave it to my brother about a year and a half ago...
