I went this morning to the local supplier and bought 5 more cups. Also switched over to 1/8" dia. tungsten. Lost 3 out of the 5. Went back to using the old gas collet and didn't lose a cup in the last 2 1/2 hrs. of welding.
Maybe I am missing a piece, but my local sales guy...

Alumina Cups keep breaking- suggestions
Have gotten out of the stone-ages lately and switched over to gas lens in my torch. Been welding 2"x2"x1/4" mechanical tubing to itself and to various sizes of plate all day and have had the cup tip break off of 3 of em' today. I am running around 225 amps- 30 on the flow of argon and...

Oh yeah, throw that one in ANDY, that the passport might have a brother that is multi-process. After I've made up my mind and bought my welder out will come this one and I'll be kicking myself for not waiting.
Thanks for all the opinions, as I would like to get both, just...

Passport vs Maxstar 150
In my "quest" like everybody else to get the best bang for the buck, and me still not being able to make up my mind I'm going to throw this into fray. If you had your choice which one? Both are priced about the same, portablility about the same. Main difference is that I see processes...

Got mine yesterday and it is a 3035 gun. Everything Miller including badges..
Now I just have to decide on a welder. Bought the gun just in case which route I went.

HAWK,
Thanks for the info. Still does'nt make the decision any easier.
But since most of my work for welding involves 1/4" and below(mostly at that, structural box tubing, 1/8" wall) the Passport is looking better .

Cope,
Yea, I really like the MM210 that's why I considered one for home. Strange thing is, I have never tried to MIG aluminum. We don't have the spoolgun. Plus we have the TIG, so I just use it.

Alrighty then, after doing some more searches here on the Passport, I think I will probably drop the DVI out of the top 2. So now it's down to the MM210 and the Passport. You guys are really not helping when the wife see's the change in plans now. It's hard enough since I have a garage full of...

Hawk,
Thanks for the welcome. And yes I did find and read your review. That is one of the reasons why I am considering the DVI. As far as portability goes when I regularly load up gear and the 4-wheeler, well a 170lb unit(minus tank) really isnt that much more. Besides I'm used to thowing...

Have visited here a couple of times in the last week researching the DVI. Decided to go ahead and register- quite a bit of good infomation shared on here.
My question is has there been anymore feedback generated from anybody that has been using the DVI? I have searched the forum and...
