MM251 vs. MM252
I've run a MM252 a good bit and thing it's a great machine. Might have the opertunity to buy a MM251.
Can some one point me to a reference of the differences between the two? If not, can some on tell me if the MM251 has "fan on demand" like the 252? e.i. is is silent when...

DCEN TIG for Aluminum

Don't have anything to add to the enima stories but hemochromatosis:
You don't get it from exposure to irion. It's a genetic dissorder that causes your liver to retain feretin (iron) at toxically high levels. Takes years for the iron to build up. Symptoms are joint pain, lethargy and irratability....

If you've got the input amps it's very hard to beat the price/ value/ performance of a big old Sync. I'm in the Boston MA area and was able to screw this together off Craigs List and Ebay for less than $1K:

Yeah fred, I could take or leave a desert truck but you're right about the pics. The fab is out of control. It must be fun to spend your days TIGing pieces fresh of the CNC w/ perfect fit up. Very cool web cite.

that's about what I was thinking as far as the HAZ and diffusing stress over a larger area.
SS is difinately right, what ever they are doing is working because these things see take a beating like you've never seen.

The above pic is of 0.120 wall 4130. The shop seems to have the skill and equipment to get really good fit up. Could some one explain the double pass. Why would you want to do this? Isn't more heat bad?...
