It welds ok if we keep the dial above 21-22V. If we get lower than that it sputters real bad. have been using it for a year now though. I was just considering repairing it now because I have a voltage regulation issue with the Suitcase also, wonder if its caused by the power source being off?...

Delta weld Weird Voltage readings
Hi,
I have an old 450 Deltaweld on a 12VS Extreme. Unknown serial number. I normally weld at about 23V on the dial. However, the display on the suitcase will consistently show 29V until I have an arc established then it drops down to 19V until I release the trigger, then its back up to 29V....

I mentioned the 1250. It was replaced a few years ago with the 85. Good used 1250s can still bring good money though....

Blue Welders/ Gray Plasma cutter
Same goes here! Have a Hypertherm 1250. It's 9 years old and never let me down yet! We use it about 15 hrs a week, on the third hand torch and second machine torch. Brian

By far the biggest window for the money is a Viking 3350. I personally use 2 Speedglas 9100XX's, one has the PAPR and an integrate grind lens behind the flip-up auto lens. Also have a Miller Elite. The score? Definitely Speedglas, has the most comfortable fit and great balance, lightweight. Miller...

Pump the pedal!
LOL that got me for a while on mine too! For a reason unknown to me, I have to pump the peddle a number (as in 5-10) of times until I hear the gas valve open. After that opening ceremony I'm good to go till the next time I start the machine. I don't have an explanation...

Nice work! BTW I love your truck! I would love to build one like that! Couple questions, what is the difference between AR500 and Hardox 500? Also, how did you get the curve in it? I am trying to get a shop to roll some 3/8" AR500 and they won't do it. Wish I had my own roller! Thanks, Brian

I will second this opinion. I also use all Miller welders and Hypertherm plasmas.
But back to the original question, you probably won't notice a big difference in cut quality if 1/4" is within rated size for both machines. The biggest difference will be cutting speed. The closer you get to...Last edited by B&M Welding Inc.; 01-23-2015, 07:25 AM.

FWIW I have a Diversion 180, which works well and I love it. I would highly recommend a gas lens though. Since I put a lens on mine I have much better quality welds! Overall its a good beginners TIG machine that will perform well right out of the box.

Problem Solved!!
Bad gas.Third bottle is a charm! It's great to have a welder again. BTW this Invision rocks! This is by far the best Miller product I have owned! Just too bad I wasted a day trying to fix something that wasn't broke. Never assume 1 out of 2 bottles of gas is going...

Cruizer, don't blame yourself if we haven't got it fixed! I did call Miller this morning before I bought the hall, and they were stumped as well. Having just went from a nearly empty to a full bottle of gas I thought I had ruled out that possibility. Now after playing with it all afternoon I'm starting...

My local repair shop had a transducer in stock. Installed it and just ran some welds. Still no change. I'm really starting to question my gas now. Weird thing is it just started at the end of a bottle of gas and now I'm on a new one! I will get some 75/25 and see how it acts....

Is there a way to test the hall? I just tried welding at 22v. I held a steady arc on a plate and watched the amp reading. It fluctuated from approx. 110-155 on a steady 2 sec. cycle. That make sense? the sound of the arc coordinated with the amp reading. Thanks for your input!...

What should my amps be? I was showing about 148 when short circuiting with .035 @ 22v....

Thanks for the reply, Cruizer!Could you explain farther how to "meter out the switch"? The power switch? I assumed that to be ok, because the main relay is closing completely.
BTW, I tried changing the Arc Control knob. I could tell it was effecting the weld fluidity but...Last edited by B&M Welding Inc.; 01-18-2015, 05:47 AM.
