Yes it is a copy, and I doubt there are any patent issues since the hossfeld was originally built so long ago, not to mention that american bender has been selling them for so long now that something would have been done if there was a problem.

Go to www.americanbender.com They sell dies that fit the hossfeld bender in virtually every size available. They are also very high quality and very good people to deal with. I have probably 5 sets of thier dies along with about the same number of actual hossfeld dies and they are of at least as...

My syncrowave 351 occasionally does the same thing. Let off the pedal, touch the tungsten to the metal, lift it back up and hit the pedal again and it will start the arc. Have no clue why it does it.

When welding with my old 180 SD which did not have adjustable post flow, I would many times build up a black scale on the tungsten and then start getting erratic welds. After getting my bigger 351 with adjustable pre and post flow I read the manual and it suggests a post flow of 1 second per 10 amps...

Welding the plates is always a problem. Trying to weld 1/8" plate to .020" or so to high tensile steel many times requires a lot of stitch welding. If you set the welder so you wont burn through the thin metal it wont penetrate the 1/8" plate.
The welds on the tubes themselves...

My first used machine was an old white face Millermatic 200. I purchased it back in about 89 or 90and it has been used every day commercially ever since. I have burned up 3 torches on it and my repairs to date have consisted of a main power switch, an amp selector switch, a set of capacitors and a...

I paid $2800 for my 351 and it was originally purchased new in may 97. It had been sitting idle since 2000 and came complete with a water cooler torch etc. It's 400 amp capability was way more than I needed, but I figued I was getting it for almost a grand less than a new tig runner package and if...

I like all the feautures that the inverter machines offer, but, something just scares me about pulling 200-400 amps through microchips, diodes and transistors. There are 30-40 year old transformer based tig welders still being used every day out there, but who knows what the service life of the inverter...

You can run it off of bottled nitrogen, but, by the time you buy the bottle and go through a few refills, you will be very near the cost of a decent small compressor.

You will be able to turn it on and do some light welding, but any heavy welding will pop the breaker.
I recently purchased a Synchrowave 351 and just to test it I plugged it into my regular 60 amp welder plugs. I have used it up to about 150 amps output so far and it welds fine, but,...

Not a real happy camper with Miller at the moment.
I have been a devout Miller user for years and parts have always been readily available for any machine I ever owned. So, when I came across a good used 8 year old Syncrowave 351 I never thought twice about purchasing it.
The machine didnt have the pulser option in it, but I figured...

Some of the areas I have to get into to weld makes it almost impossible to get on a foot pedal. The description of the crate fill sounded like exactly what I needed in order to use a momentary button and keep from creating a crater on shut off.
Do they really not work that well?

Start/crater and pulser board for Sync 351
Can anyone give me an idea of what these 2 boards cost for the Sync 351? They are part number 147171 and 147172, machine serial number is KH389068.
Looked all over the miller site and cant seem to find any info on parts.
Thanks
