Scott V:
What torch it that in the picture?
Will it fit on the 2050?
SBerry:
Thanks for the suggestion. I think I tried adjusting air up and down but I try it again just to make sure.

I tried setting the amps down as low as possible. I also tried cutting the air pressure down to the minimum as well.
Using a brand new electrode and tip I still can't get the kerf to where I would like it. I also have to travel a little too fast for any real precision work.

Miller 2050 torch options
I have a 2050 Plasma cutter with the 55 torch that came with it.
I am very satisfied with the 55 torch on thicker material but I can't seem to adjust the machine down enough to get a real nice thin kerf on thinner material.
I bought the 35amp tips for it but I still can't get the kerf...

I have a portaband that I use all the time.
You can get one for under 300, and it will last forever.
If your careful you can make some very good square cuts.

Mine does that when I forget the ground clamp. Takes me several attempts of "what the heck?" then I proceed to call myself choice names, clamp on the ground and things are good again.

From my experience, I look at the longevity of the diesel as a bonus. You should save more than the initial cost of the diesel in fuel alone over the life of the machine.

14 pin connector?
What is the most common use of a 14 pin connector?
I have one on my TrailBlazer that I assume is for running a wire feeder?
But, I also have a MM250 with the 10 pin module for running the 30A spool gun. The 10 pin module also has a 14 pin connector. What would this be used for...

I was leaning towards getting the Miller but after reading about the grinding button on the Optrel I will probably have to go with it.
I don't think I could handle having to turn down the sensitivity and then back up to where it was every time I went from weld to grind and back to weld....

Time for a good ol' fashion whippin!!!
Seriously, the law should be brought in on this one.
I've had "jokers" change my heat setting before, but adding something to the fuel is WAY beyond a joke.
He would pay one way or the other.

GARAGEGADGETS,
that is definitely something to consider.
However, I may be forced to sell to help pay for the 251.
Would be nice though...

That's one place I haven't tried. I have an Airgas close to where I work. I'll give them a call and see if they stock Bernard.
Thanks for all the help...

I am now the owner of a brand new MM251.
My old machine, which I haven't even ran 10lbs through is a MM250. I plan on selling it, but I am undecided on whether to sell the M-25 that came with the new machine with it.
I am leaning towards keeping the Bernard. I am just a little...

Thanks for all the responses.
I have looked at both websites suggested above and it looks like both carry the tips I need.
Scott V,
Which one of the guns are you saying has the better trigger and nozzle/tip setup?
I will probably never use spray-arc. What...
