i have soldered circuit boards before but to be honest i cannot get these capacitors off! i have a gas soldering gun…still, this is a pain. i will looking into more information when i have the time. usually when i get off work at 1030pm I'm not up to try anything with this board.

well, received the capacitors from mouser, they are rated at 400volts not 450 like the panasonic ones.
I'm confused here again…on the older panasonic capacitors it says 450volts. i am told that is the "VDC working" amount BUT panasonic does not offer a capacitor of this...Last edited by spriggan; 06-02-2015, 12:49 PM.

the large capacitors have a lifespan of 3000hours, over 10 years i think they reached that mark.
im hoping its only visible failures!
i'm thinking that these pieces can only be bought in large quantities or are now obsolete and discontinued

old miller dynasty 200. found the problems, trouble finding the parts!
hello everyone, i bought a used (bad idea) miller dynasty 200 a month or so ago.
i was welding 1/8 aluminum one night when i heard a nice fizzle and lots of smoke. i opened up the machine to see that first it was made in 2005, and second, the large can aluminum electrolytic capacitors...Last edited by spriggan; 05-25-2015, 10:14 AM.

the artist and i have been using inweld 0 oxy copper rods to tac the sculpture together(i believe that is the correct name for them)the piece is a 9' tall JFK. he does not wish to use those for the finishing result. i arc welded the inner skeleton together and am in the process of cleaning up the whole...

thank you for response, no pedal. i have used one but have not bought one, guess its time
yes the tungsten is ground correctly. the copper is just a mess. i jumped into this project at the end. all the panel overlaps are poor, I'm using small clamps and vice grips to get the panels close...

i am using a miller xmt 304 cc/cv
lift tig setting with a #17 torch
1/16 tungsten using deoxidized copper rod, and electrical copper wire...
