plasma cutting on a car-computer protection

So I've heard, but I'm looking for a written reference to take to court. A hitch shop blew my computer while cutting a hole in my back bumper, and refuses to pay for the repair.

I'm looking for references on standard practices to prevent damage to the computer in a car when plasma cutting on the back bumper. Textbook, manufacturer's recommendations, or any other authoritative written source is preferred.
