I totally agree with this thread. Good point Sberry. Who let things get this way? Since this is a metalworking forum. I will mention this. In 7th grade I made the mistake of goofing around in metal shop class. I whizzed a small piece of flatbar across the floor and one of my buddies scooted it back....

Nice pics of a great looking truck. I like the Hubbell twistlock connectors on the cable reels and the mounting of the speakers in the storage cabinets. I use a lot of twistlock and CamLok connectors. One question though. Lynx, I was curious as to where you obtained the aftermarket front bumper cover...

I don't think you can get a half ton (F-150) with dual rear wheels. That usually would be an F-350 or larger....

Whether it's code or not, I personally don't like the practice of using the white as a hot conductor even if it has been marked in the panel. Even if the wire in color coded at both ends, it may not be coded in any intermediate junctions, so if one would try to tap it in the middle they would not know...

These remind me of when I used to go camping and we'd send the younger guys looking for a left handed smoke screen shifter, tent peg wrenches, a pullemtighter, and tent squeegees. I got sent when I was younger, so later it was time to pass on the tradition.

It's nice to see the kids enjoying Halloween. They all look great. It seems that the holidays and other special days are really for them. With the way the world is today, it's great to know traditions like dressing up and trick or treating haven't been lost.

You are correct on the wiring. For burying conduit I would use PVC (plastic) because it is will not corrode and is easy to work with. It is assembled by solvent welding together the pipes and fittings. The fittings for EMT metal conduit do not seal out moisture and therefore preclude it's use outside...

For your application the #4 Romex and the 50 amp plug are plenty large enough.
The prongs and socket contacts for a 50 amp connector and those for a 60 amp connector are the same size and have the same amount of surface area, they are just in a different pattern. The 60's are more of...

[QUOTE=harcosparky;69727]I wouldn't even take an order like this to Home Depot or Lowes, well maybe Lowes because I know they'll at least load it for me. Come to think of it even the Home Depot here has a Contractor Pick-Up line to deal with such large orders ad I have seen them loading pallet stacked...

My local Hechingers closed a few years before Home Depot and Lowe's were in the region. Maybe Hechinger's was about ten years ahead of it's time. I still much prefer the local hardware store, electrical supply company, lumber yard, steel yard, etc. The reason main reason that I don't like them is that...
