"Fireman" was an interesting match response. As a 15 year career fireman- I can tell you this. Do a lot of research before you commit to the fire service- it is highly competitive. It will require additional schooling and a strong medical background over and above what you have now. It is...

Unplug the gun from the machine. Then connect your ground to work piece. Turn machine back on. See if it causes the gas solenoid to energize. Could just be a gun issue- or a bad board inside machine if issues still abound....

Another vote for a MM251. I picked up a 30A spoolgun with it. Nice unit. It will outwork me any day.

A .023 liner might be your friend on this one. It fixed my same issue on my MM251. Obnoxious to do but relieves frustration.

You sure about not having a reg and moisture trap on power max 30 xp ? The downloaded service manual shows one inside on the left side of machine ( facing the front). Supposedly under the units cover. Looks like a auto drain type from the picture....

You'd be much happier- spending 400 more on a Hypertherm PM 45. I own all blue but- Hypertherm is the authoritiy when it comes to plasma.

I get the impression that you make assumptions by your post. You assume that a licensed electrician is following code and not trying to save a buck on a bid project. You assume that all wiring work is done by an electrician. Whereas I've lost count how many times a home/ business owner did the work...Last edited by kize; 02-27-2015, 08:09 PM.

Quick search on the net--I find that zr 9000 alloy (that was heavily used by Klein) is just 7000 series aluminum that is hydro formed. So 7000 series filler applies. I'm no expert on it. I'm sure someone that's a metallurgist will chime in. Good luck....
