Wonder if there is anyway to get a software update on an older 200DX so you can change these perameters without having to shut the unit off.

I'd definitly wear a shirt over that stuff.
Here's some of what I found

Any experience with Devair Compressors?
Looking for a new 5 hp 80 gallon compressor and really like the specs of the devair and wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this brand?

Bummer on using up all your Argon. Might also try opening the valve on the torch all the way and setting desired flow at the regulator.
I've been enjoying my 200DX.
Hard to be taken serious when your welder has a shoulder strap.
Just like photography. You...

After installing satellite systems for over 5 years I'm BIG on the radiant barrier (foil, techshield, etc...) insulations. I'm going to be putting the double bubble radiant barrier from www.fifoil.com. The stuff is awsome. Being in Houston we have to compete more with the radiant energy more than the...

The 375 does well on thin stuff like cutting out floorboards. On thicker stuff it helps to have a fairly new tip. It could stand to be a little more powerful.
I've got the Motor Gaurd M-26 toilet paper type dryer on mine.

Front engine dragster? Why don't you just buy a rear engine dragster and run it in reverse? Kind of like a sports compact dragster with the big tire in front. LOL
Sorry couldn't resist?

Straightening a rear end housing
Some of the sheetmetal fabricated rearend housings I buy are tweaked when I get them. What is the correct way to bring them back to true. Heat and cooling , big press ?
Both axles tubes are pulled towards the rear by about 1/8-1/4 inch at the ends of a 40" wide housing.

Thanks again Hawk,
I'd consider my pop more on the distinct side , than faint, and I don't hear the HF start like I hear the HF in AC mode.
Should I be hearing the HF start like you hear it in AC mode?...

Hawk,
Thanks for the reply. What about the popping? Is it normal for this machine to makes a small pop when starting the arc in DC HF start Tig mode?

Is this thing suppose to sound like a mosquito
I received my dynasty 200DX today! Hook it up and tried some welding on the bench. Box sounds kind of like a mosquito once it's turned on. Is this normal. This is the first inverter I've ever heard or used. Also when using HF start, in dc mode, when I pressed the pedal to begin welding it makes a disctint...

filter argon for tig welding?
Would there be any benifit in filtering the Argon when tig welding? I was reading some old post about some nascar shops getting bad argon. And then I stumbled across a sight about welding stuff for NASA were they ran the argon through some micron filter and dryers to remove any moisture.

pjseaman and Hawk,
Thanks for the input. I have some experience with electronics as I've been in the Navy, worked for Pitney Bowes doing copier and fax repair, and then worked for Mettler Toledo working on precision weighing equipment, so I've got the confidence to take this thing completely...

I'll check and find out what rod he was using. I'm pretty sure this guy know his stuff, though. The last time I was over there he had a few dodge cup heads doing some R&D work for Evernham's team. He's just swamped with work and I think he gave up on these heads. The thing is there ported. I just...
