I have the jet 7x12 vertical/horizontal, but i honestly don't ever use it vertically.

There really is no need to make it "stationary". Put your material being cut in a vice and or use "Rigid" brand pipe stands. Make sure you get the deep cut model. I use mine alot. I also have a jet horizontal/vertical, and a chopsaw. Chop saws are great for quick cuts w/no lay out,...

fuel tank
5052 and 5086 are the only grades I weld up here, the 6061 that I weld is usually extrusions, so I've never had to worry about cracking when you break "bend" it. I've never had 5000 series aluminum crack due to breaking "bending".

hard surfacing
What do you all use for hard surfacing on buckets and blades? Thanks

He doesn't actually do the cutting, the parts I had cut were done in Seattle and shipped flat. The cutting was actually pretty expensive, shipping wasn't bad....

My favorite miller product that I currently own would probably be my Dynasty 200DX. It is very versitle, I can weld stick, tig alum, mild steel and stainless, all with very little change in set up. It is also very portable and I can run it off my trailblazer. I do plan on purchasing...

If you want real cheap, just use two pieces of pipe, one that one will slide fairly snug into another, but not so tight that it won't roll inside it. Cut a circle out of a piece of say 1/4 " plate, it has to be a larger diameter than the flanges you plan to bolt or tack to it. Weld the smaller...
