All good info here! Make sure your not one of those guys who welds down and around. I have seen so many people weld from the top down. Talk about no penetration! Bottom up and around and make sure you get in a comfortable position and are able to get full motion around the pipe. I always hated...

Just found a Lincoln 185 for under $1000. Anyone have any thought on this one? From what I can remember they draw a lot off your wall.

Did I read it right that it pulls 90 amps at 100% duty?

I have never heard a thing about an ESAB machine. The ac/dc tig is 160 amps at 40% dc and in the $3k price range. Not an option.

D165 or TA 185 is where I can't decide. The 201 I have been talked away from but it is in the back of my mind.
