sorry to bring up an old thread guys but I am trying to learn this walking the cup method. most of the information I find refers to thicker material(suck as the link above). I am trying to learn this specifically for welding 16 gauge stainless. does anyone know of any other informative links on this...

has NE1 heard of Aglevetech?
I am looking for lanthanated tungsten and saw this auction on tungsten and wondered if this was a good place to get tungsten.

Does anyone have a good picture of no.32 running gear?
I was looking at the no.32 running gear for the 350LX and the cheapest price I have found is $287.
I want to get a better look at it to see why it costs so much, But there are no good pics of how it hold the tanks on the back.
TIA

he says he bought a bunch of them used from a company and hes going by the counter on the machine.
I am assuming it is accurated being that it is a design built into the machine though.
Thanks for the info....

question about diamondback tig torch sizes?
I was looking at the diamondback tig torch packages, And the higher the amp rating of the torch , the more amps it can handle, but when you want to do light duty stuff, do you have to use a light duty torch? Or could a 350 amp watercooled torch do as delicate of a job as the 125 amp air-cooled?...

how long do welders last in cycles and hours?
I know that there is no definative answer but I am possibly going to buy a syncrowave 350LX that according to its counter, has 643 hours and 71,600 cycles. I want to make sure there is plenty of juice left in it.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the info, I plan to do racing suspension systems as well so I figured I would be better to have a 350 than a 250, dunno if its overkill, but I need at least 5/16" capabilties if not a little more.
as for the water hose trick, I read that I was supposed to use special water...

Can you run a syncrowave 350LX without a water cooler?
I may be buying a used syncrowave 350lx that has no accesories except the ground and foot pedal, so I figured I would buy the 350amp watercooled tig torch package. But this leaves me with no immediate funds for the watercooler. Can it be run safely at low settings without one? I dont want to buy an...

Syncrowave 300 any good used?
I am in the market to buy a tig welder. Initially I was going to get a syncrowave 180, but I dont know how well it will handle 5/16" exhaust flanges, also I will be welding rod ends and suspension parts. So figured its better to a little too much juice than a little too little juice.

Well, I guess i am unclear of the reason for a 5/16" header flange being the standard. If it is required to be that thick for reliability issues, thats one thing.
But If it is mainly just to ensure the header flange doesn't warp when welded, then I would assume the sync 180 can...

will the syncrowave 180 be able to weld to a 5/16 header flange?

I think I have decided on a syncrowave 180, I really cant afford anything more, I just have to make sure it is heavy duty enough to make turbo exhaust manifolds.
Thanks

if the nhra requires rollcages to be tig weldd, there must be a reason.
the only think I could think of is that careless mig welding can cause cold starts and penetration be somewhat deceiving. but either way If the manifolds need tig welding then I need a syncrowave 180 or Maybe I can check...
