While in Orlando Florida, we made a trip to Epcot. I stumbled upon this beauty in a display at the GM Test Track attraction. I thought it was pretty cool so see some miller equipment on display and at work.
It made me feel good about my Miller purschase. If this baby can work all day...

I thought that "MIG" stood for metal inert gas (like when using argon), and "MAG" stood for metal active gas(when using a gas or mix that has prperties to react due to its moleculer(sp) count).

Just a guess, but you said the thickness is about .070? Possibly you could try annealing the aluminum to get the bends you are looking for. I'm not sure how 6061 takes to the annealing but maybe?

Getting more stuff done !
I just love my new M251.
I finally finished the new gate to the house. Got the concrete poured, and made a drop rod today. The wife is going to be happy (happy I got the welder! HA HA).
It wasn't an elaborate project, but being able to get it done sure does feel good!...

I got a digital camera today so here is a better picture of the very first bead done on my MM251. Running .035 wire with c25 in short circuit mode on 1/4" steel....

Well, Got the welder fired up today!!! Here is the first bead. It's on .25 str, I just used the settings on the chart under the hood.
Looks like I need some practice..... What do you guys think?...

Used equipment is the best ! You don't worry about scratching it or denting or even pushing it a little harder that you should. There is something about used equipment that make the venture so much more easier..... Oh yeah it's the PRICE.
