3mm weld on 1/8 alum
Hi all
I've been asked to archive a 3mm tig weld on 1/8th aluminium with 100% penetration.
I can't go bigger than 3.5 mm.
There has to be some burn through to be machined off after.
I don't think this can realistically archived.
Does any one have any ideas?...

warping steel
I've got a problem with a part we are trying to make.
It's long thin steel with some nuts welded on it.
I have a tolerance of 0.5mm.
And as soon as I take it out of the gig it's over 1 mm out. And it's execentuated down the piece.
I've tried welding it as cold as pos, doing...

Tig welding 5052 Aluminum. which filler ?
Either filler is good unless you are anodising it then go for 5356.
4043 will be more ductile and less likely to crack but on the other hand 5356 is a stronger material but tends to crack if you don't cap the weld properly.

food grade stainless
Job complete. Customer more than happy.
Will have to change my purge setup tho.
Using a Y piece in the gas line didn't work too well, had Little flow to my torch. Just enough.

CWB modules
I'm looking to take some of the CWB modules. Does anyone have any modules they want to sell? I can't afford to buy them. So expensive.

food grade stainless
I'm gonna purge them as I can't get to the back. It's thin material but I would still like some filler on hand incase I get a bit trigger happy. I know I'm gonna be using less than 30 amps and using a gas lense.

I know 316 is more expensive but cost is not the issue. If I use a copper back plate won't i still get sugaring if the temp gets too hot?
I would like to get 100% pen as its holding liquids.
I haven't done much in the food grade side of welding. I weld aircraft parts and parts made...

food grade stainless
I've been asked to weld some food grade containers. They don't look anything special but what filler rod should I be using? Is 308 ok?
I spoke to a friend and he said that I should be using ER347.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

anodising
Does anyone know why 4043 filler rod turns black when anodised?
What causes it and is there a way to get around it without changing rod?
