When I bought my 300, I only had a 70 amp breaker to run my whole garage. I have since upped all the wiring to it, but I ran it for quite a while on just the 70 and had no problems with it tripping unless I was doing AC welding with the balance cranked. It is a GOOD machine if you have the space....

I also primarily use the rotary finger control. I do chassis work on drag cars and I have had MANY times that a foot control would have sucked. I think that a foot control is only easier when you are bench welding, but I do have and use both, but I would only say that 10% of what I do is with a foot...

The 300s did have the balance control that have the same 45-68%EN like the newer syncrowaves

Dont be afraid of a 300. I have one. You can get all parts with the exception of the transformers. The 300 is rather large, weighing in at something like 670 pounds, but I can almost guarantee that you will never exceed the duty cycle of this machine. It is 60%@300 amps and 40%@375 amps. They are...

The aerowave will operate on single phase. It also isnt really that big. The dynasty tops out at 300 and the Aerowave goes to 375 which is the same as my Syncrowave 300 in my garage. If I had the money I would definately go for the Aerowave, but it is about twice the price. My next upgrade will...

I just looked it up in my AWS manuals and the only mention about joining these two dissimmilar metals was to use vanadium as a middle layer and to spot weld the metals, but this does not offer any help to you. I believe that it is best said that it is not readily done.

They will all work fine. The reason to use the 80sd-2 over the 70s2 is that the tinsile strenght of the 80sd-2 rod comes closer to matching the strength of the 4130 than the 70s2. They both have pleanty of ductility that is needed. Also, using the mild steel rod instead of the 4130 rod keeps you...

I agree with Sean, I use scotch brite to rub the copper off of the rod.

I believe that the Oxweld 65 is the same as RG 60 (Gas welding rod). I do know that the recommended rod is actually ER80-sd-2 if you dont do the postheat treat. I was also known as Linde 83 or now ESAB 83 at my welding shop.

I can be done, but you need to clean the oxide off of the surface, and I think that should be done chemically. If you have an AWS book the specs are in there and if you need, e mail me and I will send you the parameters to do it.

You need an adapter to run the air cooled torch. A welding store should have what you need. To stick weld with it, you need to put an electrode holder and cable on, put the contactor to standard, turn high frequecy off, and current to panel, then you should be in business.
