If you have a floating ball type flowmeter then it's easy to have someone watch that when you have the problem and see if your gas flow is dropping.

Interesting about the weight. I hadn't considered that. I don't earn a living from welding. I'm an advanced hobbyist. I pick up some side work here and there but not much. I can afford just about any hood though. I wouldn't say price is much of a factor in this case. it's not like I'm buying a dynasty......

I forgot to add... I'm on my phone with the app. Which allows me to log in.
I couldn't figure it out on the computer. Spent about 10 minutes on it before giving up and going to the phone. Phone is fine for reading but I don't like typing on it.

new hood
So I'm looking to get a new hood. I've got a Lincoln hood that is labeled the Viking 1840. It works decent but I think it's failing as it has started to flash me on short arc times like tacking pieces. It also flashes me if it doesn't have a perfect view of the arc.

how to log in?
I jumped on the computer and I can't find the login screen on both chrome and Firefox for Mac. Turned off my ad blockers and such and still didn't work. Anyone have a suggestion?

I have a foot pedal from htp for my maxstar and I love it. Very precise, made from metal and half the cost of Miller. I use tig torches for ck generally but most torches are fine. And a ground lead is just a ground. Get a heavy ground cable and a quality clamp. Don't get a cheap stamped steel ground...

What are you going to do for the locking mechanism? How thick is the door going to be? 3/16-1/4" solid door is very hard to pry open.

Fwiw, buying graded hardware made by Nucor from a reputable dealer you can get batch numbers and material test reports as well as certs of conformance. A lot of a325 structural bolts are foreign sourced these days but they still come with c of c and mtr for each batch.
