Pulse MIG using a positioner??????
Hi All,
I've been pulse mig welding 2" O.D. parts on a position-er with .035 70-6 wire, 475" /Min. This is a production job that I'm about 1/2 way through 2000 parts. After cleaning the tip I can usually get 10-12 really nice looking parts then they start to get a sort of oscillation...

Thank you steakman, for the kind words!
I run 90-10, 75/25, straight argon, & straight CO2, so the mixer keeps things simpler & 90-10 is not cheap so there is a $$ savings as well. Its nice to be able to customize your mix alsoLast edited by grpweld; 05-02-2011, 05:37 PM.

Aha that makes a lot of sense, so I need specific regulators for argon & CO2.
I feel like such a arse now

Smith argonne mixer
Just picked up a used Smith argonne CO2 mixer, does anyone know if you have to use special regulators? or can you use flow meter regulators?
on the label on the side it says to set the regulators at over 50 psig, all my regs do is have a setting for flow not pressure!
Thanks

Carhartt shirt
Has anyone tried the Carhartt long sleave shirts for welding? I've always worn levis cotton shirts & wished they had a flap over the pockets. The carhartt is only 35% cotton & I wondered if the melt when a spark hits?
Thanks

Frank what they are refering to is completly different than oxidation in the weld. I've had a dynasty 300 for about 8yrs. now & I know what oxidation is weather it's the base mat., filler rod, or tungsten. With oxidation you get black or grey floaters, with the gritty apearing weld everything looks...
