Stickman I am not sure of the joint being welded but I think he said butt and corner joints inside and outside.

Thank you for your assistance. I was thinking the same thing it's a bad cable. As to how close to the weld area I'm not sure. Do you think that the amps are to high for the 3/16 aluminum ?

Ground clamp very hot Dynasty 350 DX
Quick question for a friend. He said the ground clamp on the Dynasty 350 DX was getting extremly hot. Material being welded is Aluminum 3/16 6061
Amps 280 I'm not sure of the tungston size. Ground clamp attached to aluminum being welded. I'm not sure if the welder is hooked to single phase or...

Tungston Grinding Tool
What type of equipment does everyone use to grind the tip of the tongston electrode. Do you spend the money on those expensive grinders or would a simple small bench belt sander do. Thank you for any suggestions

Thank you Fun4now and Shorerider16 for your help. I think the 200 DX will handle what I want to do at home. The 350 is very nice and if later on if I see the need for more amps then I'll upgrade to the 350. Thanks again

Which tig Dynasty 200 DX or 350
I want to start learning to tig weld at home just for a hobby. I currently use a Lincoln SP-135 mig and an old Lincoln Weldan Power AC-150 stick. My main use would be mild steel and aluminum under 1/4 inch thickness. I also would like it to be portable. I've read through the spec sheets on both machines....
