i have performance welding 2nd edition, i think its a pretty good reference. Haven't cracked it open in a while, been reading and re-reading TIG welding for dummies for a while

thanks for the opinions, i am not putting it in myself, but once its up ill take another couple pictures for you. I tryed talking the customer out of powder coating and maybe using thinner material, i lost on both arguments.

Helmet care
I have a Jackson NexGen welding helmet with the **** Raiser design, I payed more money than i should have on and i want to keep it in good condition. I do mostly TIG but occasionally get into some out of position stick and MIG. What can i do to my helmet to keep it clean/scratch-less? clear coats, wax,...

find the wire for your fuel pump, cut it and put a toggle switch between them, i have my switch under the passenger seat. just make sure (if you have a back seat) that the people riding in the back can accidentally kick it, or you will find your self sitting in the middle of the road with you hood up...

i got an answer on cleaning rod lol, i figured one way to figure out how to TIG half inch was to grab some scrap and your hood.

i have tig welded a lot before, i was going on the 1cfh/10amps from the TIG welding from dummies book. I did all of the fabrication myself

sorry, its 1/2" carbon. The arch has a web that has been mig welded. The letters are not structural. all of the other fabrication has been done, im just going to TIG the letters in for looks, the longest weld is going to be about 3 inches, time really isn't an issue, looks are. I am just planning...
