Me and few buddies made a roll bar in our stock car out of drill stem, Used a chopsaw with a abrasive wheel for staight cuts & a torch for all the rest, saw would not touch it. Glued it together with a stick welder as we were outside, use 7018 for the whole job, rolled the car three diferent times...

I welded up a set of camper tie downs for my pick-up, 2X2X1/4 tube butted to a 3/8 plate with my old mans MM185, it worked ok but a little more penatration may have been nice, never hade a problem with the duty cycle but the MM180 dosn't have the same specs. all the aluminum i'm doing right now is fixing...

Does the beef stick to bumps on the bar, any time i've heated rebar to bend it, it gets all flakey, is this a problem.
