Off road use = Who cares go have a blast.
On road= Don't come through California with them. If it should fail and in the investigation it's found out that the rim fail due to being welding upon. Guess what. Illegal and unsafe repair of a safety...

One 1/4" wall thickness tube would work but would be too heavy as far as I'm concerned.
2X2X1/16" would work just fine if you feel you need to go thicker I wouldn't go thicker then 1/8" wall.
Two reasons for this opinion. One the lathe is not strong...Last edited by kcstott; 01-29-2011, 11:55 AM.

Yep as stated above CFM first. 60 or 80 gallon with a true five to ten horse motor. The bigger the better. Then when you decide you want to expand by adding an aux tank connect them with the largest plumbing possible. 3/8 is way to small to fed a tank.

I can tell you up front you won't save much if anything buying just the machine as compared to a ready to run kit.

If you take 6061 T6 and try to bend it in a brake at a tight radius it WILL crack.
T4 is considered soft enough to use in a brake.
Give it a shot and see.

Sell it and buy something that will work. Spindle speed is most likely too high for anything other then aluminum.

Yes sir Nr211 or 212 is just about the best non code wire to run. Welds great even in high wind. I'd have to compare the bead quality to a nice fresh from the oven 7018 just a bit smoother beads
Thanks to Davedarragh for the suggestion...
