I put a corn furnace (100,000 BTU) in my house 9 years ago, and it has done a wonderful job. There's no reason a person couldn't build one. But there are several unique features, such as the fire pot design, size and speed of the augers, the combustion air blower, and the timer that takes over the combustion...

I've run .023 (Lincoln L-56) on my XMT350 with a 12' Tweco Mini Mig gun. I used it to install quarter panels and floor pans on a 64 Chevy II. It worked great.

I have a 65 ton Scotchman model 6509 that I bought new in the early 90's. It still works great. Like the previous guy said, I wish it was a 90 ton and had a coper/notcher

I have a Big 40G and it's an excellent machine, but I believe the auxiliary power is only rated at 3 kw.

You may want to think twice about buying the torchmate cad software. I bought it to use for nesting, lead-ins, and lead-outs. It never did work right and ended up being a total waste of money.

I bought a model 1800 in 1987, a model 2000 in 1993, a model 3000 in 1998, and another 3000 last year. I've picked up every new saw I've bought at the Ellis factory in Verona, Wisconsin. I use only bi-metal GP blades from Ellis. IMO there's not a better saw for the money.

I converted a Powermatic vertical band saw from wood to steel, and it works great. I used a variable speed DC gearmotor from a belt conveyor to slow it down.

Go see your local welding supplier and tell him you're hot to buy some equipment, but not sure what you need and would like to do a demo. If he's any kind of a business man he'll set one up (either at his store or at you're shop), you can try your hand at it and if he knows anything about tig welding,...

I've found that a #5 full face shield from Jackson works best for me.

Last summer I replaced a Lincoln Tig 300/300 (transformer) with a Lincoln Precision Tig 275 (inverter). IMO, as a tig machine, it's has much better arc stability, especially at low amperage, than the transformer machine. I've not tried DC stick with it, and probably won't since I use it only for tig...

Whoa, your snow looks as little deeper than ours. I thought maybe you were into Chevy Nova's. They would probably be cheaper than your Nova.
