per the tech manual for the 302 we followed the flow chart for troubleshooting and ended up with the following: Had 15v at plug 21 pins 1 and 5 likely a problem with voltage feedback (V24) wires 30 and 37 to PC2 RC12 pins 1 and3. Of course wires 30 and 37 had continuity. flow chart for troubleshooting...

things went from bad to worse. check out my latest post. replaced brush holder and now nothing. no weld output no 120v or 240v....

trailblazer 302 gas brush holder problem
had issue with no low idle and no weld output. I cleaned the slip rings it started to weld and idle down normal. Decided to put a new brush holder in it since the covers are off and everything is easy to get toon the weld output side. I seated the new brushes with an armature stone lightly I might add....

Trailblazer 302 hig idle and sporatic welding output
2005 trailblazer with only 200hrs and its doing the "not return to low idle". It also will not weld unless you mess with it by continually striking an arc in ac mode about 50 times then it welds fine until you turn it off and then you have to mess with it again. I noticed the amperage led...

I swapped out the bad one with the voltage one it it works. so its the lcd chip. thanks...

thanks guys. I unplugged the last digit thats acting up and swapped it out with the one plugged into the amp display. It still had some of the red missing. but the amp digit worked in the voltage slot so its definitely the lcd chip.

You may have a leaking hose. Had the same problem on my portable; the torch was new but had been in tool box in cold weather for two year and was full of splits in gas hose....

100% tungsten
I have two of these machines. Yes they are inverters but they weld fine with 100% tungsten. They weld fine with other tungsten's also. They weld easier with the 100% green tungsten. The 4043 flows and wets better too. As you get more used to it try the other tungsten's....

clamp the stick lead to the lug on the tig torch cable and remember to change the polarity. It needs to be EN or straight and have a torch with the gas valve on it....
