Cope corners...
I have to agree with DSW on this one. When making trays/frames out of angles coping allows for more surface area for welding and I think makes it easier to keep things square and flat.
A porta band is the hot set up for this as you can cut out the pieces...Last edited by Handy560; 06-28-2008, 05:16 AM.

Only info I found...
"In the June 11th issue, Power Click subscribers will have the chance to review all the finalist projects and vote for their favorite project in each of the categories."
That's what I copied and pasted from the Miller entry rules.

What's the best electrode for cast ornaments?
I want to add some spears and post caps to spruce up an old steel fence. The ornaments look like cast iron. What is the best stick electrode for that type of tacking?
Thanks,

Makes sense. I guess then any 20 A gfi would work in place of the receptacles.
Thanks,

I see in the manual the "optional" gfci circuit, but I see no part number or model number for ordering.
Either way, I guess I was a bit suprised as it just seemed that for a piece of equipment that puts out 50A and is made to be used only outside...

What to do?
Still interested on some feedback regarding the electric start option. I will not be using the generator/weldor all that often and it may sit for some time between projects. Is the battery and starter just a maintenance headache or worthwhile?

Bluestar
I am leaning Bluestar. Still debating a few things.
Electric start. I like the idea, but what if the generator sits for a long period of time without running? That must take it's toll on the battery...
Without it would be bit lighter too......

Thanks John
I pretty much figure the new product was not an issue from a reliability stand point, but more with the application.
My concern is mostly with the fact that there is no auto idle and that I will always working within a few feet of the unit.

Stairs
The Renegade would put out more watts then my current genertor so I could ceratinly run my maxstar or mm175 on a cord.
What I did not realize is that there does not appear to be an "auto idle" feature.
Having the motor running at a fixed...

Good point... 12 feet from the ball and chain. Not like the hundreds of feet of stick leads...
Then again to get that kinda distance out of the leads your talking about a large machine.
I would like to play with it first too... but lws didn't even...
