  • first you need to clean the weld before you can inspect the weld
    use a wire brush and a chip hammer to remove the spatter, then inspect the welds
    the number one thing I see is guys ask me to inspect their welds and they have not cleaned it first. sorry just one of the things you have...

    and turbo38t, I use a piece of old leather that I punched 2 small holes in and thread my shoe laces threw at the top and it drapes over my laces on my boots so the hot spatter...

    one thing you should do , or do on your next trailer is move the jack back about midway of the tung so you can drop your tailgate and the gate not hit the jack. when your truck is hooked up to the trailer

    a plastic bead blaster would do the trick.
    we have one at work and it cleans rust and dirt off in no time, if you could find someone that had a blaster you could use
