I don't think youre that far off. I would slow down your travel speed and bump your wire speed down a bit...then post a few pics. Really it's hard to say...I'm one of those that welds more by sound and feel than what the dials are set to...

sheet metal storage rack
Anyone have any good ideas for a sheet metal storage rack. I've seen alot of them, but never one that knocked my socks off...

After you get a few hours on the plasma cam I'd be interested to know what you think. Do you think the construction of the table itself is sturdy? My other hesistation is the software package...my students do alot of drawing with AutoCAD and Rhino and I'd love to be able to import drawings easily and...

I've found 32-33" to be a pretty common height for tables. We just built a couple 4'x8' tables for our school shop out of 1/4" top plate, 4" channel (1/4" wall) for the frame/crossbraces and 4" x 4" (10 gauge) for the legs, plus 1/4" plate for gussets on the legs....
