Yeah being upside down is a real issue for us down under. Plus side is we are real good at head stands when we get back on top😄
I was hoping to draw a response from someone else living upside down.
So so far I am very happy with it, power is good and the arc is crisp...

Lincoln Ranger 405D
Hey Guys,
Well, although my blood runs blue I have gone and added a red component to my fleet. I have been watching the net for the last couple years for a 400amp+ engine drive and a month or so back a Lincoln Ranger 405D appeared. It has done 2500hrs but on a budget and considering this...

Gas trouble
I agree with cavi mike. You have insufficient gas coverage. Either a breeze blowing your gas away, a leak in you pipe work or the reg is set too low.
Given it it is intermittent I would wonder if it is wind or a leak that only occurs when a certain condition...

Oil level
I have the same machine. I have had the cutting out problem, it was caused by the oil level being low and certain conditions caused the low oil cut out to shut it down. If the oil is up on the dip stick it will be something else. My breakers have not caused any problems. ...

No cad
Thanks RW. Unfortunately I'm not very savvy with technology so if was made from pictures in my head and sketches on the workshop floor.
If was a rather stressful design process but a good end result. Fingers crossed that it functions as expected. ...

Front Blade Project
Hey guys,
This project has been lurking for the last year or so, my customer got things started then ran out of money to finish, finally he gave me the go ahead to get it out of my workshop. Unfortunately his budget did not extend to repainting the blade but he assures me it will get done,...

Normal
Hi Mawz17,
you are experiencing a normal thing. Everyone deals with it in their own way, I roll the electrode tip between my fingers to break it away or strike the electrode aggressively if the weld is non-critical.
Don't sweat it mate

I agree
I agree with your thoughts. The more cold filler added to the weld pool per dip the cooler it will become through-out the duration of the dip so, as I see it, the same logic applies to the speed it is added. I will often use the filler to momentarily control...

What I do...
I use a 12vs on a Bobcat225 with Esab coreshield 11 near daily. I have the bobcat set on V (not sure if the 250 has this). The +terminal is connected to the suitcase and the negative to the vs lead and ground. I find it a treat to weld with, hope this helps.

Cheers Guys,
I figured the Optima was the way to go but did not know which Model; 304 it is.
Out of interest, is the 304 the only option or just the best option. Good to know if I have choices when browsing E-bay and the likes.
Thanks again
Nick

XMT304 + 30A Spool Gun + What Pulse Unit
Hi,
I run a small General Engineering Business and I have a 304 XMT that I am using successfully with a 30A Spool gun for Ali jobbing work.
In the last few weeks I have had a few Ali jobs come in the door and I am looking at options to extend my Ali welding without going all out....

I have been offered a "Miller Econo Twin HF"
The machine has been in regular use and the guy has upgraded.
Can anyone tell me anything about these machines? Mostly I want to know about the HF. It has...
