I tig weld on weld platens,welding fixtures,welding positioners and rotary tables and I would be lost without my foot control. I have enough going on manipulating the torch around the geometry of the weldment and can't see complicating the process anyfuther by fidling with a torch switch of any kind....

I have been to busy to stop by this site but it appears that it is in the same condition that I remember it being in 4 months ago. What a shame. I think Miller needs have a Tig welding contest, have all the self proclaimed welding forum hot shots take a welding test using any Precipitation Hardening...

This is my experience with this site.
I listed my welding and NDT Certifications under my signature not knowing that per this forums opinion and bylaws that it was proper protocall to list ones equipment instead. I dont get it, the equipment...

I have never come across a Titanium Gas Turbine Exhaust Duct before and I have been manufacturing them for a long time. Ducts are typically made out of 321 or 347 Stainless steel. Which would explain the 300 series filler rod. Maybe it is to a super secret helicopter program that I am not aware of....

I had a tig welder who had a habit of putting the torch over his leg while sitting in his chair after finishing a weld and the tungsten burned a hole thru his nut sack.Needless to say he never did that again.

Amen Engloid, may I add using Waspaloy, Inconel 718, Haynes 188 or maybe Hastelloy X as the the base metal for the test. That should give the competition some credence....

I thought he was persuing AWS 17.1 to open up the door and show a future employer, that is why I offered the information that I did. No, I was not trying to sway him from securing a certification as I offered him information on AWS QC10,11 or 12 that I thought Liaky might be...

AWS D17.1 was based on Military Standard 1595A and Military Standard 2219.
AWS B2.0 does not exist, I think you are refering to AWS B2.1 which is a welding procedure and performance standard.

4340 scrape slugs machined out of a part we are currently manufacturing.
The bench hands at my company would love you for it, as I, you would be saving me money in labor and material costs. Most stainless steels are not fun to grind infact some are down right labor intensive....
