I don't TIG, but I recently purchased a CSV Stryker from USAWeld. It is in a nice hood IMHO.

Your Welcome, but did you get it fixed? I am assuming you found the problem....

King Metal is used by many. I have never used them, but have looked at their web page. They have a very good assortment of metal products for fences, art, etc. Look Here

Not familiar with the idle solenoid, but if it is common to most all I have dealt with, the linkage should be adjusted so that when actuated the plunger can bottom out in the solenoid body. If it doesn't, the pull in windings will burn out in short order---- then bad solenoid. Also the plunger needs...

Looks great! With that size of BBQ, there won't be a mesquite tree left in West Tex after fueling it.

As to your question about using copper tubing smashed flat for a backing strip/plate, I have done that in a pinch and it works fine. Still have a few hanging around for when needed,

It is necessary to be able to see. I have had to go to shade 9 and use cheaters to be able to see what I am welding. That would be where I would go for starters. Fix the seeing problem.

Not really familiar with the machine, but it sounds like a typical in tank fuel pick up line problem. Either it has a hole in it part way down in the tank or has come apart part way down in the tank. In effect you have a short pick up fuel line in the tank. That is my guess from what you describ...

Welding wire is one thing... 7018 LoHy rod "may" be something else. Desiccant does work for removing moisture from lots of things ie gun cabinets, electronic storage, etc. Still not so sure about LoHy that "also" absorbs moisture.

After reading through this, would it be an option to add a pipe or the same type material as the hand rails are made of under the square plate and then core drill the concrete and anchor with por rock or hydraulic cement. Forget using your pre-drilled holes. Just another thought.

Ryan, I really wasn't saying that you shouldn't try to keep LoHy rods as dry as possible, but my feeling is that the flux will probably be as apt to absorb moisture as the desiccant. In other words, both the rod AND the desiccant will absorb moisture at about the same rate if placed together. I don't...

This is another interesting thread that is typical to many others on the subject. As with most similar threads it has lots of opinions, some facts, but mostly questions. Ha! I am like many and don't have a real answer and have also done like some: I have a package or two of unopened 7018 because I...

You could have something in the fuel tank that is getting sucked up to the pick up tube, starving the engine for fuel. Then when It quits, the piece of junk drops off of the pickup tube allowing fuel to flow again for a while until it gets sucked up again. Lots of possibilities for fuel problems,...
