  • Unplug the unit!

I am guessing the same thing that happened to me with a portlable electric tool, not my welder.

I got a tingling from the drill (turned off while I changed the bit).

It went away when I unplugged the unit.

    Perhaps your ground...

  • Thanks for the replies; anyone know rough estimate on cost

    Folks:

Thank you very much on the help. I now have a better feel of what plasma is about.

Do any of you have any rough estimate on the cost to get started? Is it comperable to the Dynasty?

  • Can you use the Dynasty with a plasma torch?

    Folks:

Thanks for getting back to me.

I wonder, if I already invested in the Dynasty rig, could I use it as the power supply and just get the plasma welding torch? If it's DC, I can't see why it would make any...

    Anyone familiar with plasma welding

I am looking for anyone familiar with plasma welding.

Please not that I am referring to plasma welding, not plasma cutting. I already purchased a Miller Spectrum Plasma cutter.

What I am referring to is called plasma welding.

I have heard that it's supposed...

  • Re-Posting Question on Water Torches (I mistated my question earlier)

    Folks:

I apologize for the misunderstanding that I created by my asking about Water Torches.

What I really mean are the devices that generate oxygen and hydrogen through electrolysis of water.

I did not mean to ask about water cooled torches or other equipment....

I plan to unvest up to $3,000 for a good system that can not only handle up to 1/8th and 3/16th steel, but could be cranked down to only a few amps.

I plan to try to do brazing with the TIG (melting only the filler; not the base metals). I plan to do this because I may be joining dissimilar...

I need help with water torches

    Hello:

I realize this may not be the correct forum to ask this; but I have been a bit
frustrated lately trying to find an affordable water torch that can handle up to
about 1/16th to 1/8th inch steel and brass.

I want to get into metal art and jewelry making....

    Brazing with GTAW (TIG) equipmnet

    Folks:

I briefly touched upon this topic on my previous posting, but it was not in
    the title.

I would like to do brazing using TIG equipment instead of having to use
    a torch.

I don't want to use a torch because I do not want to have to deal...

Need help in selecting TIG system

    Hello:

I am looking into doing some metal artwork and jewelry, using recycled metal object, mainly bicycle parts.

I will most likely be working with mild & stainless steel, aluminum, and perhaps brass. The metals that I work with are most likely to be 3/16th inch or...
