Job.........
I work as a unit supervisor for a multinational fertilizer company. That means I get the blame when something goes wrong and none of the glory when it goes right. I weld for stress relief. I was taught by Dad, who welded pipelines, potable water delivery systems, and ANYTHING...

I looked at both the 30 and the 45. I compared the cost and considered a few other factors. I ended up with the 45. Since I have gotten the toy (yes I am a hobbyist) I have not moved, attached hoses to or even look at a cutting torch. If you are doing lots of repairs go for...

Could this be to slow you down, giving the equipment additional time to cool?

International Farm Show
A view of my wish list!!!! I went to the International Farm Show today in Tulare, Kalifornia. I walked into the Praxair booth and saw lots of toys. It brought a tear to my eyes.

Learning to weld
I learned from my Dad first, he is now 83 years young and still welds to this day. When I was in high school I took a metal shop class. That helped, but I didn't have the desire. Five years ago I borrowed a friends welder and found out I enjoyed the time I spent welding....

OT Question
Go to www.lowes.com/iris. Simple and easy, but it takes some time to set it up. Catches me every time I forget to turn it off.

Diesel or gas Truck
I recently got a 2013 1/2 ton ford 4X4, gas engine. Prior to that I was driving 3/4 ton diesel pickups. The price of the vehicle was not a concern, it was Kalifornia's CARB laws that made me change. I took a trip to Las Vegas and used the new pickup. Gas mileage...

Independant Contractor
What ever number you agree to will need to be a lot higher than $30.00 dollars. That would leave you about $19.00 dollars a hour. This money would be required to pay all your cost, plus your wage. Most company's are going to require you have an insurance policy....

Diversion 180
Thanks for the response. I will look at that one also.
I got a great stick machine, Trailblazer 302. It's the second one I bought after the first one was stolen early last spring.

Diversion 180
Welders, ( I leave myself out of that category as I am only a hobbyist) I went and looked at the Diversion 180 today. Played with the thing and it seemed simply enough. The price is right and I want opinions on the TIG ability. I can see welding Stainless Steel and iron, but I am not sure I would...

# Copper Thiefs
Last April they stole my welder off the trailer. You could not see the welder unless it was in use. The thief's pried the welder from the welded frame that was bolted down, and made off with the welder during the day. Welder was in place at 6:30 am and gone at 3:30...
