Thanks! And good luck with your build. I look back now at all that free time and equipment and tools that were available to me during shop class in high school, but I was too busy chasing girls to make good use of it. I wish I had that shop now!

Door edge molding. I am open to new ideas though. It is split on top, so I'm not sure how long it will last. Any other suggestions?

- 3/8" 316L Round stock

Very clean. I like it! I also like the way you put the edge on the shelf.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I've boiled about 10 to 12 batches with the burner so far. It was made for a 80 to 120 quart pot. I use a 100 quart and, depending on the initial temperature of the water, I can get it to a rolling boil in under 10 minutes, usually much less.
Despite...

Outboard engine repair - lower unit
This looks like a fun repair, huh?
It is my buddy's lower unit on a boat he just picked up. The engine has just been rebuilt and purrs like a kitten, but there is some damage to the lower unit that I have been elected by unanimous vote to try and repair.
Unfortunately,...

I have used the 98%Argon/2%CO2 on stainless steel with a mig application where concentrated heat and saltwater are used. The weld itself looked great and spray transfer was easy to achieve. I was at first concerned about the possibility of oxidation, especially considering the corrosive environment....

That was great! Thanks for sharing that. Wow, how times have changed. Same basic principles, but a refined machinery and techniques. Still the same hardened men breaking their backs to do the work.

What a rip off!! I just filled my 120 bottle two weeks ago with tri-mix (He/Ar/CO2) for ~$20!
Is that the only supplier you have available to you?
At least you got a bargain on the bottle. Those are about $190-200 new....
