welding/fixing billet aluminum grill
i need some help. i have this billet aluminum grill for my truck that of course being aftermarket it didnt quite fit correctly. so when all else fails.... weld it. well i figured i would just pick up some aluminum from homedepot since i only needed a small piece and cut it to the correct size i need...

i finally got the time to do it this past 3day weekend. its all done with spray paint. but it looks a **** of alot better than it did before. also the first time i picked up a pinstriping brush....

not to jock the thread and sound stupid at the same time, but its something ive wondered for awhile and never had an answer for... but what for and when do you use either a bandsaw or chopsaw or coldsaw... or is it just a preference thing? ive got a regular dewalt chopsaw with metal cutting blade but...

custom painted welders
does anyone have any pics of their own or anyones welders that might have been repainted. im planning on repainting the hobart generator/welder that is in the back of my work truck, it has definately seen better days and im tired of looking at it. my plans were to sand it down and repaint it white,...

i personally wouldnt use anything smaller than 2x2 3/16, ive made three different tranny xmembers for toyota trucks to get rid of the big xmember that hangs below the frame, havent had a problem with it.

that footing is crazy. id hate to have to dig that out. it is bad enough what we have to do at the business i work for, automated gates is all we do and our inspections call us to do either 3x3x3 or sometimes 4x4x3 foot footing with our 6x6 .250 posts either in the center or how we usually do 6"...

well i found out what the problem was. when i installed the welding gun into the welder i didnt have it pushed in all the way, which would explain why everything seemed to work except for gas flow. worked great after that and i actually got to use it this weekend. thanks to everyone for giving ideas...

i opened it up and didnt see any clear hose. i did notice that there is a brass nipple where a tube should be i guess but theres a sticker above it with a picture of the spoolgun pointing to it. is that where it should be? and if so where does it go from there

turned on for the first time
so i finally got my 220 wired up in the garage. well i figured that today was a good day to start working on my truck again. turn my brand new millermatic 210 on for the first time hooked up the gas and everything, time to get to work right? wrong wasnt getting any gas flow it seems. i double checked...
