Miller 3545 spool gun hard arc starting

Well ive been looking around of the net a little and came across the Miller Wc-115A Control with optional contactor. Its used on both cc/cv power sources,and used with the 30A Spool gun. My question is could it be used with my Spoolmate 3545?

Well is there anything I can do to make this setup work any better?

Hi i purchsed a 3545 spool gun and 100c control box on Ebay to use on my 1975 miller big 40. I recently got around to hooking it up and trying the setup out. My problem is the arc is very difficult to almost impossible to get started especally at lower amps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
