I just noticed that the tungsten has a reddish color to it. Couple days ago it was bluish.

I got the 250 going. I don't have it moved to my shop yet but I basically have it moved so I can finish a project that is two weeks a delayed.
my welds are similar to what they were before. But, I think I'm not operating the welder correctly. My tungsten is splitting down the tip. Other...

I'm getting too much information. My uncle who is an electrician recommends a 50 amp breaker and 00 gauge wire. This seems like a ginormous size wire. Common sense tells me that I need to match the power cord that is coming into the machine.
would a 50amp circuit and #4 wire be enough?

Do you think a 100 amp breaker and not using the extension cord would be enough? The extension cord is much thinner than the power cord for the welder. The wire is 10 awg. I'm certain there's a large drop with it.
I can probably plug the power cord into that outlet directly.

I haven't moved it down into my basement yet which is where my shop is. Right now it is in my garage and I plugged my 30' extension cord into my dryer outlet. I'm not sure what it is. I just know it's not enough. I think it's a 50 amp circuit. (But, I'm not sure)

You are not kidding. We had to put it on a car lift just to roll it into the back of my truck.
It it looks new. Welded good compared to what I'm used to.

I need to jump...

Serial Number: KF945378
Seller claims it to be in perfect operating condition. The purchase will include.
Syncrowave 250
foot pedal
3 gallon Bernard water cooler...

He said he'd take $1500 with out the cooler. Said the water is cooler alone is worth $2,000. I have no idea if this is reasonable or not. This is at a certified Miller repair location. The water cooler is miller brand.

So now I'm conisdering the best option to replace this unit. Assuming the worst...a mother board will cost $850.
The shop also has a used Syncwave 250 with new gauges and a few other new parts. They are asking $1500 for it without the water cooler.
I typically weld thing aluminum...

Diversion 165 Problem "Poped then smoked"
So back in 2014 I created the discussion a problem linked below.
I was able to come up with a work around this problem until today.
For the last two years, I simply powered my fan on my diversion with an outside power source. It has been working great!! until today.
But,...A place to talk about how-to, techniques, troubleshooting, welding processes, welders, plasma cutters or other metalworking tools.

Discussion debtate TIG welding 6061 and 7005 (together)
I was discussing materials with another bicyle frame fabricator. He told me that has welded 6061 and 7005 tubes together in the past. I told him that I didn't think it was a good idea. However, I couldnt give him a good reason. All i could give him was that I did'nt think the puddle would bond/blend...
