Still researching
I imagine it would. It would probably have greater range, and stay in position. The flexhead might spring back too much, but I haven't got my hands on one to see....

Multiple pass OK?
If you don't mind making several passes to build-up the bead on 3/8", then a Dynasty 200DX should be fine.
However, as stated earlier, for single-pass beads you really need to crank-up the amps for thick aluminum.

Get in, hit it hard, get out
I agree with Stillwelding. Stainless doesn't like heat. It especially doesn't like to be slowly heated, since by the time you get the area around the seam hot enough, half the sheet is now super hot too. Get in, hit it hard, get out. That way you are heating...

What's up with this electrode?
Some guy took 3 inches of stainless rod, sharpened a point on it, replaced the tungsten in a guy's TIG gun. Guy came back from lunch. That stainless sure looked like tungsten, but didn't weld like it.

Try the Miller Site
For each of those rigs, Miller lists the accessories (such as cables) for each. Compare the part numbers. If they match, you are good to go.

Auto darkening helmet - getting flashed
What brand of helmet do you have?
I have an Optrel, and I did the same thing. (You can turn-off the autodarken feature so you can grind without it obscuring your vision. I just forgot to re-enable it...)

Way cool cart!
AWESOME!
Well done! It is obvious lots of thought went into the design and execution of that cart. Lots of attention to detail.
I am inspired.

Question #1
I think Fabricator has you on the right track. I too noticed some welds come out shiney, and others dull. I like shiney.
Question #2
I have found that for aluminum on a transformer-based machine, Zirconiated worked great. On inverter-based TIG rigs, Lanthinated...

Possible?
Aluminum melts at half the tempurature of steel (mild or stainless) so I would be VERY surprised to find they could be fused as one. Moreover, Aluminum likes AC, but Steel likes DC.
Perhaps a laser welding machine could do it....

upgrade later
Chances are the Dynasty 200DX will handle what you need. If you decide to upgrade later, put it on eBay. As long as you keep it is good shape (cover it, wipe it down regularly, maybe a coat of wax when it is new, etc.) you will get nearly what you paid....

Pickling paste & Solar Flux
I've used pickling paste. It will remove most, but not all of the heat traces. Certainly better that nothing. At a minumum it will require less sanding, wirebrushing, or Scotch Bright time. The one I used is called Compound 302 by...
