rl.robertson, very nice work on your cooker I like it.
lanceman73, tuning plates afford you the same even heat as a reverse flow does but you can manipulate the plates for hotter cooking if need be. Then there is the Hybrid style that affords you the option to cook in either reverse flow...

Here is a link to an adjustable Gambrel. It seems pretty easy to clone.

Josh, your cooker turned out awesome. I have been watching off and on and it looks like you have her dialed in just right. Nicely done.

mtncrawler, when I get to my office Monday I will dig out the quote if I still have it, but if I remember at the time they were asking around three or four hundred dollars for one. The man I bought mine from had mountains of them, he builds them for a living and sells all over the country, my complete...

Mike, here is a pic of mine. Sadly enough I bought this one because 1/4'' thick tank ends are rather expensive for one time purchases, but we love it and I have built a swinger grill for it to cook steaks on. The tank end measures 42'', and the top grate is suitable for cooking on as well but I prefer...

I mitered the bottom pieces to make the square base and added three pieces of pipe on the bottom to raise the base, then saddled the uprights...

I found that the plywood jig was the easiest to construct, nothing permanent and if i needed the wood after the project for something i had it. I jigged up about 100' of the fence you saw for two court yards they all came out square and the same. without a table jig of some sort i think you would constantly...

I built this fence for my office. the jig was made from plywood, i screwed pieces of 2x4 to the table in between the pickets for spacing of my top and bottom rails, i built the fence in eight foot sections, welded clips to the 4'' posts and bolted the sections in place so i could remove the panels if...
