I put the 50 amp plug on my dynasty to match the wall socket. My 220 v compressor only uses a 20 amp plug.

Where did you buy the welder from? I just got mine Monday, according to most posts, this model is the top of the line, serious welder. To have one for home and hobby type stuff is pretty cool. I hope your supplier will just exchange it for a new one without sending for repairs....
