just try not to breath in the fumes, in other words keep your head out of the plume of smoke
if your really concerned drink a glass of milk before hand, this coats your stomache and will stop you from feeling sick

maxstar 150 would be perfect for that kind of work, i wouldnt touch a counter top with a mig machine unless your looking to do a lot of grinding
just run a few small stiches on the bottome of the seam, and fusion weld the top side, that is how i see them done, and the only work you have...

my honest opinion, you shouldnt have taken 30+ hrs to build two ramps, i have built ramps like that in less than 10hrs. if you charge him for 30+hrs of labour it is definatly not going to help your buisness

the xmt 304 and lincoln inverted 350 are nice multip process machines, easily moveable, lots of power, nice arc
sound like the remote switch was in the wrong position, wire shouldnt be hot all the time

use that dual shield you have or metal core (suchs as blueshield la-c6 or hobart fabcore 96), probably need 5 passes with that bevel, wrap your welds, make shure you get it to spray, if your not spraying its not hot enough for that thickness of material
the pre-heating wont hurt you,...

yes all the bends were done by hand around a 3" pipe tacked to my table, no jigs, i didnt know what angles i would need, how wide it should be, etc... so i just bent to what i thought would work, tacked then together, nope, break apart, bend again... untill i got everything right

mini bike project
trying to keep busy during the long winter mounths so i started on this little project last night
5/8's sch 40 for the frame, bushings and front end are 1" tube, 3/4 rnd bar for the axles, im about 8 hrs in at this point, figure another 10-15 hrs remain...

gl trying to find a galvanized muffler, they are all aluminized, its much the same idea as galvanizing, resists corrosion, and last a very long time

if you are talking about bigger pipe they make attachments to go on saddle bevellers to make thos types of cuts, otherwise there is the grinder and torch to make the cuts

i built one close to that size a last winter, 10g for everything, the only problems i had was the door, if i made one again i would make the door a good 1/4-3/8 thick
